The 8th edition of the Algarve VW Meet features air-cooled VW classics, the signature of VW’s iconic engineering from the early to mid-20th century, which phased out in Europe in the early 1980s. In addition, the second generation of water-cooled VWs, produced until 1991, will also be included to showcase the evolution of the car’s design over the decades. While registrations for vehicles are already closed, visitors can still enjoy the impressive lineup of vintage beauties on display, with participants from the Algarve and other regions of Portugal.
The event is open to the public, offering a chance to appreciate these classic machines and chat with their proud owners. If you love vintage cars, don’t miss out – this is an event for the whole family!
This gathering will begin at 9.15am with a vehicle meetup at the A22 Monchique exit (GPS: 37º10'29N 8º31'54W). At 9.30am, participants will embark on a scenic drive through Monchique, heading towards the Miradouro de Fóia.
From 10am to 12pm, the classic car exhibition will take place at the Fóia viewpoint, where visitors can admire the stunning collection of vehicles. At 12.15, vehicle owners will be served lunch in Miradouro. The day will end with the departure of the vehicles at 4pm, followed by another route through Monchique on their way home.
