Interest rate

The State Bank of Vietnam has lowered the interest rate on bills for the first time in 2025, reducing it from 4 percent to 3.9 percent on 14 February while continuing efforts to control the exchange rate.

According to figures from Wichart, a financial data provider, the SBV issued VND19.6 trillion in bills in the past week.

Despite the easing pressure, analysts predict the USD/VND exchange rate may reach VND26,000 per dollar by the end of the year.
