Air travel operated by SATA Air Açores is capped at 48 euros for a round trip, while sea routes with Atlânticoline are available for 15 euros round trip. These special conditions aim to enhance mobility for young residents within the archipelago.

In a statement, the Azores government confirmed that these “special conditions for air and sea mobility” would remain in place for Interjovem cardholders. The 48-euro price for round-trip flights between islands is available “without reservation or baggage contingency” making it a more affordable option compared to the regular fare for Azorean residents, which is 60 euros for SATA Air Açores flights.

The Secretary for Youth, Housing, and Employment praised the initiative, stating that “Investing in mobility means creating the conditions for young people to be able to move freely around the region for social, cultural or occupational purposes. The Interjovem card has contributed greatly to this purpose, as a result of public investment in its revitalisation”.

The card also offers a 15-euro round-trip discount for sea travel within the archipelago, operated by the public company Atlânticoline. Moreover, the Azorean government revealed that the “planned investment” for 2025 to compensate for these tariffs is 40 thousand euros.

The Interjovem card costs 10 euros and is available for individuals aged 13 to 30 who are either born in or residing in the Azores. In addition to discounted travel, the card offers benefits at over 100 establishments throughout the archipelago.
