The initiative, which is now in its 3rd edition, also features a stand-up comedy show by Miguel Torres, a workshop where the homemade beer production process will be taught, food pairings, lectures, performances by DJs and artists Hugo F. and Pedro Braga and inflatables.

At the event, 18 brands will be present, from all over the country (five of them from the Coimbra region) and abroad (United States, Norway and Ukraine).

The festival's main aim is to bring families to the D. Pedro V Municipal Market, in the city centre, and to raise awareness of the space, characterising itself not as an event for the consumption of alcohol, "but rather for socialising between people", said the vice-president of the Coimbra City Council, Francisco Veiga.

The initiative, organized by BREW! with the support of the Coimbra City Council and the Union of Parishes of Coimbra, it is part of the municipal strategy to promote the D. Pedro V Market and enhance the city's agenda and attract people even during the low season.

In February, the Coimbra City Council, led by the Juntos Somos Coimbra coalition (PSD, CDS-PP, Nós, Cidadãos!, PPM, Aliança, RiR and Volt), approved a proposal for financial support of 50 thousand euros to the company Brew!, for the organization of Strong Beers and two more festivals during this year (one dedicated to beer and the other to wine).

Entry to the event costs three euros and a glass for consumption will be sold for one euro, with those who bring their own glass from other editions being exempt from this fee (only having to pay the entrance fee).

On Friday, the event takes place from 5pm to 2am, on Saturday from 1pm to 2am and on Sunday from 1pm to 11pm.
