“The MB Way connection to Spain and Italy is now operational,” said the company, which considered this update to be “a significant milestone in cross-border payments in Europe.”

MB Way users can now make immediate transfers to cell phone numbers that are associated with the Bizum and Bancomat networks, the Spanish and Italian ‘counterparts’ of the platform developed by SIBS.

“With this launch, MB Way users can transfer money between countries easily and immediately, with the same speed and user experience they already know: just select the contact from the list and the money will be immediately available in the destination account”, explains the Portuguese company, revealing that “the integration of financial institutions and their respective users through their respective solutions will be done gradually until June”.
