The country has rejected EU membership since 2016, but a recent survey has revealed that 43 percent of Norwegians are in favour of joining, while 37 percent are opposed to it.


This debate comes amid concerns over security in the Arctic, as some Norwegians fear Russia could increase interest in its Svalbard archipelago, particularly after heightened US involvement in Greenland.
