On the north-western coast of the Algarve, in the municipality of Aljezur, lies this breathtaking beach. The windy road down to the sand reveals the stunning seascape which offers some of the clearest water in the area and is part of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park. The beach itself is relatively large, stretching for over 500 metres. Throughout the bathing season there are lifeguards patrolling the beach and for everyone that gets hungry or thirsty there are restaurants and bars nearby. Praia do Monte Clérigo is also a blue flag beach. If you do decide to visit, I can only recommend staying for low tide, because once the tide goes down it reveals dazzling rock formations that create little pools in which you can swim or admire the colourful marine life. It is also a great spot for snorkelling and surfing.
