The approximately 507,000 pensioners of the Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) will receive the support created to mitigate the impact of inflation, of half the value of their pension, confirmed the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security.

The supplement is paid by bank transfer on the same day as the payment of pensions, reaching 507,673 CGA pensioners, an official source from the ministry led by Ana Mendes Godinho told Lusa.

In the case of Social Security pensioners, the support was already paid on the 10th.

According to the Government, around 2.7 million Social Security and CGA pensioners are covered by the measure, with that receiving old age, disability and survivors' pensions benefiting from the support.

The measure consists of the payment of an amount corresponding to half a month of the respective pension. For example, a pensioner who receives 600 euros per month receives support of 300 euros.
