“We continue to invite people to get to know the Algarve, its heritage and its history in these outdoor initiatives throughout the region”, underlined to Lusa the cultural coordinator of the project, Pedro Bartilloti. The coordinator of the initiative highlighted that the programming is “diversified and free” taking place in “monuments, historical sites and in unconventional places”, being many promoted by local artists. On the 23rd, Andreia Arrais will host the workshop “Color Techniques – Use of Colored Pencils ”

On 19 August, Forte do Beliche, in Sagres, presents the plastic arts exhibition “Criações do Vento”, which includes works by eight artists residing in Vila do Bispo and is inspired by the emotional relationship that “unites its creators with this territory and its people”. On the 21st, the multidisciplinary project “Eis o Algarve” - a fusion of music, dance and multimedia - sails to the island of Culatra (Faro) to pay homage to the region's past, in a show where the accordion is the central point.

This audiovisual trip through the traditional arts of the Algarve people also passes through Forte do Beliche on the 28th of August. In Vila Real de Santo António, the António Aleixo Cultural Center is the stage for two Guadiana Jazz initiatives: “All About Jazzy”, on the 22nd, and “Leon Meersalz”, on the 29th. The border village also hosts the landscape interpretation walk “End of the day at Safra Sal - cultural walk through the salt flats” with the salt producer Jorge Filipe Raiado and salt workers on the 28th of August.

HONEYLAND: A TERRA DO MEL - TRAILER

Summer nights invite “Cinema na Rua” and the Old Cemetery of Cacela Velha (Vila Real de Santo António) opens its doors on 27 August, to screen the documentary “Honeyland – A Terra do Mel”, by Tamara Kotevska . Paderne (Albufeira) receives another “Geo Stage” on 28 August, with the voices of Paulo Fernandes and Cristina Chaves.

The project “Bezaranha — There are winds coming for good!” brings together the 16 municipalities and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, with more than 200 cultural initiatives by the end of the year.
