“I am very excited about this last race. It is a dream come true to race in Portugal in the MotoGP”, said Miguel Oliveira, in a statement.
The Portuguese rider said he regretted the absence of an audience at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.
“Unfortunately, there won’t be an audience in the stands but, even so, it’s good to finish the season”, stressed the 25 year-old rider, who hopes to have “a very, very good result” and “be comfortable with the bike” in order to have “a good farewell race from Tech3”.
Next season, the Almada native rider, who reaches this 14th and last race of the season in 10th place, with 100 points, will be at the controls of a KTM of the official team.
In the second season in the ‘queen’ category, Miguel Oliveira climbed the podium for the first time, with the victory in the Styria Grand Prix, in Austria, on 23 August.
Oliveira has already competed in two Portuguese Grand Prix, both at Estoril, in 2011, in the debut year in the 125cc category, having finished in seventh place, and, in the last World Championship, in the following year, when he retired before the end of the race, due to mechanical problems.
