At maximum risk of fire in the Algarve are the municipalities of São Brás de Alportel and Tavira. The IPMA also placed more than 60 municipalities in nine districts including Faro at a very high risk of fire. This is due to the high temperatures and lack of rainfall and humidity experienced in recent days.
