Nelson, who is the owner of E-Bike Tours Carvoeiro, started the business ‘just after Covid’, opting not to open a snack bar and instead show off the Algarve on E-Bikes, which had not been done before he started.
There are three different tour options for people to choose from:
For €35, you can do the ‘Relax Tour’ - Accompanied by an experienced guide you will visit Lighthouse Alfanzina, Carvalho cliffs, Benagil village and cave from above, Marinha cliffs and beach, Algar seco cliffs and Carvoeiro cliffs and beach.
For €50, you can do an ‘Adventure Tour’ - Accompanied by an experienced guide you will visit Lighthouse Alfanzina, Carvalho cliffs, village Benagil, Benagil cave from above, Marinha cliffs and beach, Yellow submarine, Fontainas cliffs and beach, Morena cliffs and beach, Albandeira cliffs and beach, Arco the Albandiera, Algar seco cliffs and Carvoeiro cliffs and beach.
For €35, you can also do a ‘Sunset Tour’ and you can also do a ‘Self-guided Tours’ for €50. However, just because of interaction with his customers – Nelson prefers to do smaller groups as it is more personal than if he had a group of ten or fifteen.
Charismatic
If I am being honest, I was a little sceptical about going on the tour – however, once I walked into Nelson’s shop, my feeling towards the tour completely changed. Nelson himself is a funny and charismatic man - his love for showing people the beautiful scenery of the Algarve is infectious – you can't help but smile when he is talking to you.
It was my first experience on an E-Bike, but it was fairly straightforward to use and if you do the ‘Relax Tour’, you will be very thankful that you have one!
The tour started in Carvoeiro before we headed for the Lighthouse Alfanzina. The journey from place to place was spectacular and you could enjoy it without much effort like you were Bradley Wiggins. During the tour, you could see the affection that Nelson has for the local people as he constantly interacts with those he passes. After our historical brief at Lighthouse Alfanzina, we headed towards Carvalho Cliffs. However, it was the Marinha cliffs and beach that took my breath away – it was truly magnificent. The blue seas and the beach were magnificent. We also went to the Benagil village and cave, Algar seco, and the Carvoeiro cliff and beach.
Passionate
The tour was one of the best things I have done since coming to Portugal, Nelson is a tremendous guide with lots of knowledge on the area – which he is very passionate about. I urge anyone to do this if you can – some of the cliffs and beaches are inaccessible by car – so an E-Bike is the perfect compromise.
To book a tour, just go to the E-Bike Tours Carvoeiro website (https://www.ebike-tours.pt/), where you can find all the social networks and even a contact via WhatsApp, which will facilitate the process of booking the tour. During the booking process, Nelson will find out what kind of people want the tour and their physical condition, to fit groups with the same goals at the same times. As a rule, groups are composed of six to seven people and can reach up to 10, if they are acquaintances or family members.

Hello reader, I'm Ben. I love to write and talk about sports and I am, unfortunately, hopeless at golf. Thanks for reading!
