“Driving under the influence of alcohol showed a very
expressive increase (+59.3%), but largely as a result of the sharp drop in the
previous year”, says the report by the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR).
According to the ANSR, between January and July, 18,054
drivers were fined for driving under the influence of alcohol, while in the
same period of 2021, 11,330 infractions were recorded.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is the only offense
to register an increase in the first seven months of the year.
The ANSR also highlights that drivers arrested for excessive
alcohol consumption increased by 76.4% between January and July, totalling
10,421 arrests during this period, against 5,908 in the same period in 2021.
