According to a police statement, during a patrol in the industrial zone of Estarreja, carried out on 29 August, “the GNR officers detected a concentration of about 200 people and what appeared to be a concentration of vehicles normally related with participation in illegal street races”.

“In view of this, the patrols of the Territorial Detachment of Ovar were mobilised and a road inspection action was carried out, which culminated in the preparation of 21 infraction notices”, said the GNR in a statement.

“Four men were identified, aged between 18 and 24 years old, and four vehicles were apprehended for alterations to the characteristics of origin and circulation on public roads, in breach of the rules”, added the police statement.
