Viana do Castelo, Porto and Braga are already on an orange warning but this morning the IPMA updated the list of districts under orange warning to five, due to "persistent and sometimes strong precipitation" between 00:00 and 12:00 on Sunday.
Also on New Year's Eve, Sunday, the IPMA has placed the remaining districts on the mainland under a yellow warning, due to maritime agitation, persistent rain and strong winds.
Civil Protection has also warned of the possibility of flooding and landslides due to forecast of rain and strong wind from Saturday, mainly in the North and Centre regions.
