The parishes of Belém, Avenidas Novas and Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, have been highlighted as the areas with the highest average sales prices for apartments in Portugal.

According market analysis from the real estate data platform Casafari for the months of June, July and August, the average sale price of apartments in Belém increased from €816,888 at the beginning of the summer to €866,229 in August, making this the most expensive place to buy an apartment in Portugal.

The next most expensive locations are Avenidas Novas and Parque das Nações, where the apartments for sale in August reached the average value of, respectively, €794,993 and €721,869.

Conversely, the places with the lowest average sale price of apartments were Salir (Loulé), Beato (Lisbon) and Bonfim (Porto), with the study revealing that Salir is the only parish where the average value was lower than the €200,000.

When it comes to average prices for rent, the Casafari study found that the Lisbon parishes of Santo António, Avenidas Novas and Parque das Nações have the highest average prices: €1,646, €1,582 and €1,396, respectively, while Penha de França, Ajuda and Beato have the lowest average rental prices, ranging from €865 to €764.

While Lisbon is the most expensive place to buy an apartment, it is not the priciest location for houses.

According to the study, at the top of the list for expensive houses is Almancil (Loulé), where the average price was €1,445,316; União das Parishes of Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde (Porto), with €1,059,073; and Comporta at €851,308.
