This evolution is explained by the increase in average life expectancy at age 65, which was released on 26 November, by the National Statistics Institute (INE). The estimate indicates that the average life expectancy at 65 years old age rose slightly to 19.69 years, which compares with the 19.61 years recorded in 2019.
From this data it is possible to predict that the age of access to the old-age pension in 2022 will be set at 66 years and seven month.
