The average global occupation rate, per room, was 30.3 percent in October, according data from AHETA, lowest recorded for this time of the year ever.
The markets that most contributed to a decrease were the British (-89.0 percent), German (-58.2 percent) and Irish (-91.7 percent). The national market showed a single increase in registration (+ 58.6 percent), compared to the same month of the previous year.
Since the beginning of the year, the room occupancy rate has fallen by an average of 55.1 percent and the volume of sales has fallen by 58.1 percent.
While hotels and guesthouses were crying out for guests, the parking lots and the countryside filled with campervans and motorhomes.
