The strategy document for a ten-year horizon (2020-2030) "seeks to establish a vision for the territory", starting from a relationship between culture, creativity and the resilience of the territories, the DRCC said in a press release sent to the Lusa agency.

The strategy, available on the DRCC website (culturacentro.gov.pt), proposes "boosting endogenous resources", while at the same time seeking to respond "to structural constraints which have not been fully resolved so far from a cultural point of view and which now require appropriate intervention to bring the region closer to the major national and European issues and goals".

The strategy, which Lusa has consulted, provides, among other measures, for the creation of investment lines for the upgrading of the regional museum fabric so that 80 percent of the museums in the Centre region are accredited museum institutions or investment lines for the diversification of museums.

The DRCC also plans to invest in the upgrading of municipal archives, support for the preservation of the region's tile heritage or the development of cultural heritage research centres, among other proposals.

The document is available for public consultation until 31 January, and all interested parties are asked to leave their contributions on a form available on the DRCC's website.
