“In recent years, the Comporta area has experienced a growth in luxury resorts with a different architecture, very specific to the region and which has attracted important global personalities, having recently been nicknamed the “New Hamptons”, points out the person responsible for the mediation company, which is consolidating its presence in the area with the “Casas do Sal” project.

According to Miguel Tilli, in a report by idealista, and despite legislative changes that affect tax benefits and golden visas, the luxury market currently remains attractive, with growing demand from Brazilians, Americans and Europeans.

“Over the past few years, we have observed a very strong demand in the centre of Lisbon, Cascais and Porto, and specifically in the historic part of these cities. These areas have always been chosen by luxury home buyers. However, nowadays the demand has spread to more peripheral areas and in many cases, even rural areas. HomeLovers, through its presence in Comporta, has been responding more comprehensively to this new trend that has spread to many regions of the Alentejo, Algarve and the Douro”.

According to Tilli, what distinguishes Portugal from other destinations is the security of the country.

“Security is a topic which is (still) very present in the choices of foreigners. Let's hope it stays that way. But the climate, the cuisine and the friendliness with which we welcome those who visit us are determining factors”.
