This schedule was decided on 20 January at a meeting of the parliamentary leaders' conference and indicates that the Parliament anticipates that the state of emergency will be in force throughout the month of February.
Before the debate and vote on this possible presidential decree, the Assembly of the Republic will also discuss the report on the application of the state of emergency currently in force on 11 February.
Also regarding the virus situation in Portugal, the leaders' conference will meet again on 3 February, but it was also agreed that this meeting could be brought forward depending on the results of the meeting with epidemiologists next week, at Infarmed, in Lisbon
I'll give you all a little hint.......lockdowns are here to stay. Isn't it convenient how the scaremongering builds just before harsher restrictions come in - there'll always be a reason to keep us (the majority) locked up in our homes.
Wasn't the start of all this a couple of weeks to flatten the curve....a year ago.....then this year, 1pm curfews at weekends just for 2 weeks but they were suddenly rolled on week after week.
If the Government and media propaganda hadn't raised an issue in early 2020, would we have even noticed anything different from previous years?
