The approved bill provides that refusing to wear a mask in public spaces where social distancing is not possible is liable for a fine of between 100 and 500 euros. The renewal did not receive full support from political parties, and was opposed from the left and the right, though it was backed by the ruling Socialists and the Social Democrats.
Will The Portugal News provide evidence to support it's statement that masks contain the spread of Covid ?
Perhaps The Portugal News could do its job and request the Government provide it's evidence also.

The masks have done nothing to slow or increase anything. Numbers are totally unrelated to masks, yet you choose to destroy your economy for a lie. Baffling!

I agree wholeheartedly with Jose! I have seen numerous videos of scientists, doctors and professors etc all stating categorically that masks are useless, especially when used incorrectly as they are being used 99% of the time. I’ve seen people driving by themselves in their own car wearing a mask. I’ve seen couples / families where only half of them are wearing masks, do they do this when in the house as well to protect themselves from their infected, non mask wearing family members? And most frustrating of all the people wearing masks when going for a nice healthy walk in the fresh air with hardly anyone else around. Does Covid lurk behind bushes waiting to pounce? It seems a disturbingly large proportion of society have lost the ability of critical, logical thought! I only wear a mask (begrudgingly) in the supermarket because I do not have the patience to argue with brainwashed, hysterical sheep!

The Portugal News has done its job by remaining neutral and simply reporting was approved by parliament.
Perhaps Jose wears a mask when out in public so he won't have to pay a fine.

There is only any evidence to the contrary.

There is always one isn't there? its about helping to stop the spread of this deadly covid19 and wearing a mask is out of respect and consideration for others and if you want proof where is the proof that wearing a mask does not help contain the spread of Covid?

Gerard, literally each and every scientific-standard study points to no help from masks and instead harmful effects are plentiful.
Any study that you find by making any search on any scientific publication will show this.
The only reports that are referred as support for masking up are non-scientific opinion based speculative writings in publications that do not apply any scientific scrutiny and are a platform for free speculative writings, not scientific studies that have any standard to pass in order to publish.
