The new agreement signed between the two entities foresees the financing of green and sustainable housing projects that include, above all, building renovation projects, but also the acquisition of houses with “high standards of energy efficiency”.
This new partnership between UCI - a 'joint venture' between Banco Santander and the BNP Paribas Group - and the EIB involves an investment of 50 million euros; the project aims to contribute to the mitigation of climate change and is in line with the European Commission's "wave of renewals".
I hope this will not mean being forced to pave floors and walls with materials that make for a toxic indoor air, because that's what this "green efficiency" means in many north European countries.
With the friendly climate in Portugal is there really a need to ruin the perfect, healthy stone and wood structure materials and replace them with new "green" toxicity? Will people who want to breath clean air have to move to tents now?
