Beachgoers disrespecting those caps could be fined. In total, 113 beaches in the Algarve appear on the list released by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA).
Capacity caps in the Algarve range from a maximum of 14,800 people on Monte Gordo beach, to just 15 people at any one time on Marinha Beach in Lagoa.
