The consumer confidence indicator recovered in August from the decrease observed in the previous month, following increases seen in the last four months, to -11.9 points.
The economic climate indicator increased in August, to 2.0 points, after having interrupted the ascending profile observed between March and June in the previous month.
“Confidence indicators increased in August in construction and public works, in trade and services, especially in the first case, while the confidence indicator in the manufacturing industry decreased in the last two months”, states INE.
Consumer and sector confidence indicators are above the levels observed at the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020), according to the institute.
