According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra and Braga will have an orange weather warning until 09:00 today, and will then change to yellow until 21:00.

The IPMA also placed the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Portalegre and Braga under a yellow warning due to the forecast of rain, sometimes heavy, which could be hail, until 21:00 today.

The orange warning is issued by IPMA when there is a moderate to high risk weather situation and the yellow warning whenever there is a risk for certain activities depending on the weather situation.

The IPMA recommends for residents in districts under the weather warning to take precautions with regard to effects due to hail damage, heavy rainfall and strong winds during the day.
