According to the weekly DGS report, the North is the region with the highest vaccination coverage of the resident population, with 86 percent, followed by the Centre and the Alentejo, both with 85 percent.
Below this 85 percent target, which served as a reference for the third and final phase of the easing of lockdown plan that takes effect on 1 October 1, are Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (82 percent), the Azores and Madeira (81 percent) and the Algarve (77 percent).
The report states that more than 8.6 million people (84 percent) have already completed vaccination against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and more than 8 .9 million (86 percent) have received at least one dose.
By age groups, the DGS report also indicates that about 491,000 young people between 12 and 17 years old (79 percent) have completed their vaccination and more than 544,000 (87 percent) have already taken at least one dose of the vaccine.
In the group between 18 and 24 years, 656,000 people (84 percent) already have complete vaccination and more than 703,000 (90 percent) have been vaccinated with the first dose.
The vaccination report advances that 100% of the elderly in the 65-79 and over 80-year-olds are already fully vaccinated, which represents a total of more than 2.3 million people.
Portugal has already received more than 19.5 million vaccines, having been distributed by vaccination centres in mainland Portugal and by the two autonomous regions around 15.8 million doses.
Can someone explain to me in what reality is it possible that 100% of any group of people have voluntarily taken part in what is being called a vaccination program while it has been impossible to find any intelligible scientifically sound arguments that it would be either safe to use or even useful and while there are tens of thousand of the highest trained and revered scientists in virology and immunology all over the world, including some in Portugal, that believe the injection does too much harm to justify the theoretical benefit of training the immune system against a single protein of a relatively mild and, to even most older people, very harmless viral infection? Are none of those scientists over 65?
