According to the Madeiran official, the administration of the third dose of the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 will start as soon as the European Medicines Agency gives authorization to the States to proceed with the process and will focus on groups at risk.
The regional secretary explained that the flu vaccination will take place in two phases, the first – 9,000 doses is aimed at risk groups, while the second phase should start in the second half of October.
In total, the Autonomous Region of Madeira will have access to 68,000 vaccines, 21 percent more than last year.
Pedro Ramos indicated the process of inoculation against the flu will take place in centres installed in all the municipalities of the archipelago, as part of the campaign against covid-19.
