According to data provided by the Ministry of Labour to the newspaper, in January, there were 187,000 subsidies for Covid-19 disease (€44.3 million) and 169,000 subsidies for prophylactic isolation. (€37.4 million). There were also 33,000 subsidies (€7.8 million) for assistance to a child or grandchild placed in prophylactic isolation.
Accounting, since the pandemic appeared in the country, at the beginning of March, these subsidies have cost more than €446 million to Social Security, having reached more than one million people. In the first year of the pandemic, spending on sick leave and isolation reached €125 million and, last year, it amounted to €232 million.
