The new hotel, with a Portuguese approach in design, decoration and materials, will have 109 rooms, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurant, bar, cloister and a meeting room.
The opening is scheduled for Easter 2024.
“When we look at this project and its implementation in the surrounding area, we realise that it is an instrument of true urban regeneration. It is not just the building that will be rehabilitated, but the entire surroundings which, thanks to the public garden that will be created, will give people from Braga and those who visit us the opportunity to get to know all this space,”, said the president of the council, during the presentation of the project.
“This project is good news for the city of Braga. Having an economic group that is willing to invest this amount is a sign that Braga's tourism feeds the return on this type of investment and that, over the last few years, the city has become one of the main tourist destinations in the region, country and Europe”, said mayor Ricardo Rio.
Promoted by the Hoti Hotéis Group, the future Plaza Central Hotel will have its starting point in a building adjacent to the former Recolhimento das Convertidas.
