This means that pensioners who receive 1,108 euros (2.5 IAS) will have their income reinforced as soon as the Budget proposal is approved by the Assembly of the Republic.

Applying retroactivity, pensioners will be able to receive the six extra instalments of €10 at once in June (€60), if the State Budget comes into force at the beginning of that month.

In a press conference, the Minister of Finance said that this was one of the most relevant measures that led the Government to accelerate the approval of the State Budget, so that pensioners can respond immediately to the increase in the cost of living.

Pensions had already been updated automatically at the beginning of the year, with increases of up to 1%, in line with inflation. However, unlike in recent years, they did not come with the extra increase due to the State Budget failing last year.
