The Portuguese achieved their first victory in the competition in Lisbon on Sunday, against Switzerland, with goals from William Carvalho (15’), Cristiano Ronaldo (35 and 39’) and João Cancelo (68’), a triumph that hoisted Portugal to the top of the group.
The Czechs also played on Sunday, in a home game against Spain in Eden Aréna in Prague which finished in a 2-2 stalemate.
Portugal and the Czech Republic currently have 4 points, with Portugal ahead on goal difference. Spain and Switzerland round out the rest of Group A2, with 2 and 0 points, respectively.
After facing the Czechs, which will also be in Lisbon, the Portuguese will then head to Geneva, where they will play on Sunday in their second match against the Swiss.
The finals of the Nations League take place from June 14th to 18th 2023 and will be contested between the winners of the four groups of League A, with the last-placed team of each group being relegated to League B.
