The Brazilian goalie's contract with Guimarães was only in effect until the end of the season, but it has already been extended for an additional two years, until 2027.

“Knowing that I have people's support and seeing my work recognised is important. I was very happy with the invitation and had no difficulty in accepting,’ said the goalkeeper, speaking to the Minho media.”

“I'm very happy here, at the club and in the city. The city is marvellous, and the people are very welcoming. It's one of the best groups if not the best, I've ever come across. If all the players had the opportunity to live this moment and the experience of being here, they would speak as highly of it as I do, or even better. It's incredible,” he added.

The 30-year-old Charles came to Portugal in 2015–16 to play for Marítimo. After six seasons in Madeira, he joined V. Guimarães last season after spending a year at Vizela and another in Cyprus.

He made 13 appearances in 2023–2024 and has made two starts this season.
