Afro Nation took place for the first time in Praia da Rocha
in 2019, welcoming more than 25,000 people, mainly from the United Kingdom. In
2020 and 2021 the festival did not take place, due to restrictions imposed due
to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2nd edition of the festival starts on Friday, with
Davido as the headliner. Popcaan, P-Square, Koffee, Rema, Ckay, Maitre Gins,
Midas The Jagaban, Ruger, Small Doctor, Amaria BB and Major League DJz, among
others, also perform on that day.
Chris Brown and Wizkid are the featured artists on the
second day of Afro Nation, which will also see performances from Naira Marley,
Dadju, Kizz Daniel, Pa Salieu, Patoranking, Omah Lay, R2bees, Innoss'B,
Shasimone and Kamo Mphela.
The third and final day is marked by the debut in Portugal
of Megan Thee Stallion. Burna Boy, Tekno, Beenie Man, Shenseea, Diamond
Platnumz, Wande Coal, King Promise, Bnxn (Buju), Black Sherif, Reekado Banks
and Calema, among others, also perform on that day.
Afro Nation only admits people over 18 years of age, and “it
is necessary to present identification to prove age”, according to information
available on the festival’s website.
