Burger King to open 90 more restaurants in Portugal

Restaurant Brands Iberia (RB Iberia), who have just closed an agreement with Ibersol for the acquisition of 158 Burger King restaurants for 260 million euros and have guaranteed that it has an “ambitious growth plan” for the brand in Portugal, which involves an investment of 150 million euros and the opening of 90 restaurants by 2025.

“This acquisition is strategic for the group, as it will accelerate the development of Burger King in the Portuguese market. The support of our partner Cinvenm was essential to successfully close this operation. We want to advance the geographical diversification of the brand through an innovative and sustainable restaurant model”, underlined Gregorio Jiménez, president of RB Iberia.

Burger King currently has 164 restaurants in Portugal, 137 of which are franchised and 27 owned. In 2021, the brand's sales reached 145 million euros in the Portuguese market.

I really don,t think this helps the economy. just a race to the bottom. a global capitalist parasite feeding off the masses ,buy local every shed,shack,bar and cafe ive ever been too , has served me better food ,especially portugal .
Ive had better food from sheds on the beach in the algarve
