The program, which is in its 11th edition, focuses on financial literacy and sustainability. The initiative, aimed at enhancing students' entrepreneurial skills, is organised by the municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha in collaboration with local schools, including the School Groups of Albergaria-a-Velha and Branca, Colégio de Albergaria-a-Velha, and Jobra.

In the 1st Cycle, approximately 200 students across 12 classes will participate in "An Adventure with Gaspar in the World of Numbers," where they will explore topics such as the Euro, the distinction between desires and needs, as well as concepts like savings, expenses, income, and various payment methods.

For the 2nd Cycle, about 100 students will take part in "Changing the World in Albergaria-a-Velha," a program encouraging them to reflect on social and environmental issues and then come up with innovative solutions. Meanwhile, 32 students in the 3rd Cycle will compete in the Desafi@te Ideas Competition, focusing on circular economy and sustainability.

The program also includes a Business Ideas Competition, “#Make Your Future,” for Secondary and Vocational Education students. Additionally, 341 students from 15 classes will take part in "Financial Literacy Training" sessions covering topics such as personal budgeting, taxes, savings, emergency funds, investments, and retirement planning.

The Academia Empreende+ initiative was recognised as a “Good Practice” by the European URBACT Programme, chosen from 116 urban initiatives.
