Average monthly gross remuneration per employee, which
excludes other salary components and holiday and Christmas allowances,
increased by 3.1%, to 1,439 euros, in the second half of this year, but in real
terms it decreased by 4.6% due to inflation registered in this period (8%),
according to data released by INE, regarding the evolution of Portuguese
income.
These results cover 4.4 million jobs, corresponding to
Social Security beneficiaries and subscribers to Caixa Geral de Aposentações.
And they point out that, in the case of basic and regular remuneration, the
real fall was even higher (-5.1%) in the three months ending in June.
