The PJ announced in a statement that the cocaine arrived in Lisbon on a passenger flight from a South American country. The quantity would be enough to make up at least 660,000 thousand individual doses.

The PJ also said that the seizure occurred within the framework of a preventive action carried out in collaboration with other national and international entities in order to prevent the introduction of narcotic products in Portugal and in Europe, an action that focused on flights from South America to Lisbon.
