The event runs from Friday, 16 September until Sunday and includes a fair of local products, restaurants, a children's area and a walk along the Alvre Trail.

The largest pumpkins, watermelons and tomatoes (1st, 2nd and 3rd classified) will be distinguished with monetary prizes awarded by the organisation.

The highest prize, €1,000, will go to the biggest pumpkin.

In 2021, the heaviest pumpkin weighed 699 kilograms.

The contest takes place in the Senhora do Salto Natural Park, in Aguiar do Sousa, between 9:00 and 12:00.

The delivery of prizes to the winners of the contest is scheduled for Sunday at 15:00.
