The Federation of Public Administration Unions (Fesap) “presented a proposal to update the meal allowance to €6, which the Government promised to study”, said Secretary-General José Abraão. Currently, the meal allowance is €4.77, an amount that has not been updated since 2017, and is exempt from IRS taxation.

This is one of the measures that will be included in the State Budget proposal for 2023 that the Executive will deliver to Parliament on Monday.
