The EDP Marathon starts in Cascais and follows the Marginal riverside to downtown Lisbon, where it finishes alongside the Luso Half Marathon, which starts on the Vasco da Gama bridge.

The Lisbon Marathon, is officially sold out with the registration of 6,000 participants, according to the Marathon Clube de Portugal (MCP).

The Half Marathon, together with the non-competitive event of eight kilometres, Mini Marathon, both starting on the same day at Ponte Vasco da Gama, have a combined number of 16,000 registrations.

Almost 40% of the participants are foreigners, coming from more than 90 countries, with special emphasis on France, the United Kingdom and Spain, and 60% of those enrolled are male.
