As part of the
autumn/winter vaccination campaign, this programme is now available for seasonal
reinforcement against Covid-19 for people aged 75 or over, “thus lowering the
age group so that more people can go to the places without the need for an
appointment”, the SPMS said in a statement.
However, they
recommend the use of digital passwords to facilitate the organisation of this
process.
According to SPMS
data, between the 7th of September and Thursday, more than 1.7 million people
were vaccinated against Covid-19 and more than 1.7 million against the flu in
mainland Portugal, of which more than 1.3 million received both vaccines at the
same time.
The seasonal reinforcement
campaign against Covid-19 is aimed at people aged 60 or over, pregnant women
aged 18 and over and diseases defined by the standard published by the
Directorate-General for Health.
People aged 12 or over
with risk pathologies, students in clinical internship, firefighters involved
in the transport of patients and professionals from prisons are also covered.
“The goal is to
vaccinate 3 million eligible people this year and therefore the importance of
adherence to vaccination is reinforced, in particular for the most vulnerable,
to be better protected for the coming months”, stress the SPMS.
