André Ventura participated in a lunch debate promoted by the International Club of Portugal, which took place at a hotel in Lisbon, and was asked about a possible agreement with the AD after the legislative elections on May 18, to guarantee governmental stability.
In response, the Chega leader said that there are "suspicions that seem serious about someone who is a candidate for prime minister" and argued that, "before any majority, it is necessary to demand transparency and clarification".
Ventura once again demanded explanations from Luís Montenegro about the news that has been surrounding the company Spinumviva and its assets.
"Nobody is talking about private life and intimate life here, we are talking about issues that are important to the exercise of the functions of the Prime Minister, his enrichment and the receipt of benefits", he indicated, referring that "this is what needs to be clarified as a fundamental requirement for the construction of any majority".
The Chega leader considered that, "between a majority government without ethics and a government without a majority, but with ethics", he will "always prefer the government without a majority, but with ethics and transparency".
"Stability will be worth nothing if in three weeks, or four, or five weeks we are confronted with other news that implicates or will implicate the Prime Minister even more and that will bring down a government that has a majority, an absolute majority or any other", he argued, calling on Luís Montenegro to "step aside and let others govern".
Do Chega's ideas of ethical behaviour include soliciting minors for perverse activities and helping oneself to random luggage at the airport carousel?
Asking for a friend.
