The dates of Lula da Silva's presence in Lisbon were
confirmed to Lusa by the prime minister's office, António Costa, although it
should also be noted that the program of the president-elect of Brazil in
Portugal is not yet closed.
On Tuesday, Lusa reported that the possibility of Lula da
Silva, during his stay in Portugal, meeting with the President of the Republic,
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and with the Prime Minister, António Coast.
At COP27, António Costa, in two of the speeches he gave at
this climate summit, welcomed the position of the President-elect of Brazil in
defense of the Amazon rainforest.
“It is with renewed hope that the President-elect of Brazil,
Lula da Silva, was heard to renew his commitment to zero deforestation of the
Amazon rainforest”, declared the leader of the Portuguese executive, on Monday,
during a roundtable that included with the presence of the Presidents of the
European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, of the Council, Charles Michel, and
the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
The prime minister insisted on reinforcing his expectations
regarding the future presidency of Lula da Silva in the speech he gave to the
plenary of COP27, on Tuesday.
As secretary general of the PS, António Costa expressed
support for Lula da Silva in the campaign for the second round of the Brazilian
presidential elections.
