In an interview with Antena 1 and Jornal de Negócios, Mário Campolargo said that the replacement will be gradual, as the current cards expire.
In the middle of this year, he said, Portugal will launch “a new citizen card, with a very appealing 'design' which will be at the forefront in terms of security and quality”.
Another of the new features will the fact that the card will be contactless.
In 2023, the government intends to open eight new Citizens' Stores.
Sounds like a form of the New World Order Digital ID Card

I don´t like the unsafely characteristic of bank account cards being made “contactless” by default. A contactless Citizen Card doesn´t make me feel safer either, by same reasoning as Bank account cards. So my question here is: will the contactless ID be optional? Or will it be imposed on people and then news articles will claim (lies) that people “like” or “want” to use it?

‘Contactless”?….don’t they mean a ‘Tracker’?

In terms of technological advance this is inevitable. In terms of the development of the surveillance state, on the lines of the World Economic Forum, this is sinister and alond with vaccine passports and digital currency a key move towards totalitarianism.

What is the reason for it being contactless? Surely you just show the card to someone who wants to prove your citizenship????

Well I don't think this is a very good idea. After the banks and other services forcing people having everything in mobile phones that still fells very insecure last thing I need it is the ID card .

When I read these comments, I realize that there is no way to escape the crazy people. If you’re so worried about your contactless cards, then get an RFID-shielded sleeve or wallet and a tinfoil hat while you’re at it.
