The median value of bank valuation on housing was 1,458 euros in January 2023, 27 euros more than that observed in the previous month, according to INE.

In year-on-year terms, the rate of change stood at 14.9% (13.5% in December 2022).

"It should be noted that the number of bank assessments considered decreased for the eighth consecutive month, standing at around 22 thousand, which represents a reduction of 25.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and 33.3% less than in last May, the month in which the maximum of the series was registered".

The biggest increase compared to the previous month was seen in the Algarve (2.2%), with the only decrease seen in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (-0.8%).

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the median value of assessments grew by 14.9%, with the most intense variation recorded in the Algarve (17.4%) and the lowest in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (7.5%).
