The National Maritime Authority (ANM) has warned of the "considerable worsening" of weather conditions and maritime unrest in the Azores archipelago between 6pm on Monday and 6pm on Wednesday.

According to a note published on the ANM website, waves are forecast to reach a maximum height of 13 metres, with an average period varying between 11 and 13 seconds.

"Winds from the southwest quadrant are also expected, with an average intensity of up to 65km/h and gusts of up to 120km/h".
