The Car of the Year/Volante de Cristal Trophy Award 2023 has been awarded to the Renault Austral, which thus succeeds the Peugeot 308.

According to NM, this is the first time in 20 years that the French manufacturer has been distinguished with the award, with the last time being in 2003 with the Renault Mégane.

Among 22 candidates on the list, the final was decided between seven cars, with the Austral receiving the highest number of votes from the national jury.

Renault's SUV won over the Honda Civic, Nissan Ariya, Peugeot 408, Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric, Skoda Fabia and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz.
