“These are proposals of nature that have as their main element the identity and the place, which includes the people who live there, the local culture and economy and the landscape, which is the best known on the Costa Vicentina”, said Marta Cabral, president of Associação Rota Vincentian.
The event integrates 48 promoters who will develop, over seven days, 75 initiatives "providing a sustainable and multidisciplinary journey through nature, heritage, culture, people and landscape" with the aim of affirming and disseminating the identity of the territory between Santiago do Cacém, in the district of Setúbal, and Lagos, in the district of Faro.
“In practice, we will have several things happening along the coast, in the mountains, in villages, forests, activities related to the observation, interpretation and conservation of nature”, underlined Marta Cabral.
The objective “is for the participants to visit and discover the territory with a more cultural look”, and there are also activities linked to traditions and handicrafts, a demand “that is beginning to be very common in the region”.
"There is a new proposal here to look at nature", she said, underlining the "inseparable link between landscape, agriculture, local community and tourism".
The third edition of Semana ID kicks off on March 26th, in Santiago do Cacém, in the district of Setúbal, with a walk on the “Circular Route Santiago Histórico”, at 15:00.
The opening session will also be marked by the premiere of the Rota Vicentina promotional video “The landscape we choose”.
