The IPMA has also placed more than 50 municipalities of Faro, Beja, Santarém, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Coimbra, Viseu, Vila Real and Bragança at very high risk of fire.
More than 70 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Évora, Beja, Lisbon, Leiria, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Santarém, Viseu, Guarda, Vila Real and Bragança are also today in high risk of fire.
Since the beginning of the year there have been 2,252 forest fires and 7,499 hectares have burned in rural areas, according to data from the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF).
Today the IPMA predicts warm weather for the continent, with generally very cloudy skies and with the possibility of weak and scattered precipitation in the North and Center regions, weak wind and decrease of the maximum temperature.
The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 11 degrees Celsius (in Leiria) and 17 (in Faro) and the maximum between 22 (in Porto and Aveiro) and 32 (in Évora and Beja).
